Black Panther: The Movie

If you haven’t seen Black Panther by now, than you’re surely missing out! The blockbuster cinematic production created by Marvel Studios was released 16 February 2018 (USA). It’s first week take domestic box office earnings pulled in $291,954,422 and has a global earning of$520,054,422. (as reported byBox Office Mojo). Black Panther actress Danai Gurira, along with cast mates Lupita Nyong’o and Letitia Wright, discuss their favorite scenes from the movie:

This happened to be one of my favorite scenes as well and I echo everything Gurira stated. It was just such an exciting moment to see Lupita speak Korean along with many other inspirational things I took from the movie. Despite Wakanda being fictional, we can still make quite a few things presented in the cinematic adaptation, a reality. I feel it’s crucial to nature black talent and intellect versus antagonizing individuals for wanting to seek and understand knowledge and/or creatively expresses themselves. For so long, I myself, would be ostracized for being “the brain” or having things on my Christmas list such as a microscope (true story, and my mother actually bought it for me). I was made to feel like an outcast all because I didn’t excude the “traditional” black boy image or mannerisms. I loved science and I loved to dance. #ShoulderShrug

Hopefully others will see themselves or aspects of themselves, in this film as I did. Hopefully they’ll see the inspiration and excellence.
